Hyundai Mobis Co., Korea’s largest auto parts maker, said Friday that its net earnings rose 11.5 percent in 2011 from a year earlier on brisk sales of auto parts amid record sales by local automakers.

Net profits came to 3 trillion won ($2.7 billion) last year from 2.7 trillion won in 2010, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Sales also rose 18.7 percent on-year to 26.3 trillion won from a year ago, and operating profit gained 6.7 percent to total 2.7 trillion won, the company said.

In the meantime, Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., a leading Korean builder, said Friday its net income rebounded into positive territory in 2011, fueled by record high orders.

Net income came to 228.2 billion won ($203.4 million) last year, a turnaround from a 813.6 billion won loss a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Sales rose 4.7 percent to 7.03 trillion won with operating profit reaching 367.3 billion won from a 987.5 billion won operating loss tallied in 2010.

The builder said orders topped 13.27 trillion won last year, up 13.5 percent from the 11.69 trillion won reported for the previous year.
