Miss Korea winner and television personality Han Sung-ju’s former boyfriend has filed a complaint against her for use of violence and illegal confinement.
According to the prosecution, the man claimed that he was assaulted by Han and her brother in March along with two other men after he threatened to speak out about their relationship.
He also claimed that he was locked up for eight hours by Han’s family in her house, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office announced on Dec. 22.
A separate civil suit was filed onThursday with the Seoul Central District's Court seeking 500 million won in compensation.
Han’s legal representative, however, has denied charges by her ex-boyfriend that he was assaulted and held captive by Han and her family.
Han, 36, responded Thursday that the ex-boyfriend was “telling a complete lie.” Her legal representative, the Sejong Law Firm, revealed in a statement that Han’s ex-boyfriend is a Taiwanese-American businessman.
Han claimed through her attorney that her ex-boyfriend was the one who broke into her house and damaged her property in March.
"He also threatened Han with scissors, asking her to continue their relationship. But he sent an e-mail later for asking for forgiveness,” her representative said.
Han’s attorney had already filed a complaint against the man for spreading false rumors, and the prosecutor’s office said that they are now looking into the case.
