Hanwha Pharma Co. was recognized as a “Best Family Friendly Management” company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Affairs on Nov. 22.
The company is the first small to medium-sized pharmaceutical firm to be awarded such an accreditation.
The “Best Family Friendly Management” award is given to companies that implement specific policies that encourage their employees to balance their work and family lives.
The chosen companies were honored at an awards ceremony held on Nov. 22 at 2 pm at the Kyobo Building Convention Hall in downtown Seoul. The event was hosted by the ministry and attended by 300 people including the CEOs of the awarded companies and relevant public organizations.
Hanwha Pharma has implemented a variety of family-friendly policies to help its staff and executives achieve a healthy balance between their careers and the needs of their families.
“We believe that our workers are happy when their families are happy. And when workers are happy, their work efficiency increases because they are better able to focus on and enjoy their jobs. This leads to greater customer happiness as well,” said a Hanwha official. “The accreditation will help the company boost its policies to create a good working environment, with emphasis on encouraging our workers to effectively balance their work and private lives,” he added.
Hanwha Pharm was selected as a “Best Company to Work For” by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy in June for its workers’ high level of satisfaction, the company’s excellent overall working conditions including its welfare system, and Hanwha’s business stability and potential.
