Man believed to be Kim Jong-il's grandson offers apology to NK people

A young man assumed to be the 16-year-old grandson of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il apologized to his compatriots for their hunger in a 2007 YouTube posting seen by Yonhap News Agency on Monday.

"Anthem North Korea," a YouTube posting by a person nicknamed 'gliango' in December 2007, drew more than 1,500 comments, which included about 10 written by 'kimhs616,' a nickname believed to be used by Kim Han-sol, the son of Kim Jong-nam, the eldest son of the North Korean leader.

According to published reports, Kim Jong-nam, believed to be in his late 30s, makes China his home outside North Korea. He reportedly has a luxury house in Macau.

"Well, let me set things clear for you. I'm a North Korean living in Macau, ok? and by the way, there is Internet in NK (North Korea), I've set up a satellite communication system there. Long live DPRK," kimhs616 said in an English comment, using the abbreviation of the North's name.

"Actually I eat like an average person, I can't eat even if I had good food, cuz (because) like I feel sorry for my ppl (people)," he said.

The man went on to say,"I'm actually studying in Macau. I know my people are hungry, I'd do anything to help them."

Regarding reports that the North Korean leader had a stroke, kimhs616 claimed that he believed he just fainted.

The comments were believed to be written by Kim Han-sol three years ago, when he was 13.

Kim Han-sol made headlines worldwide last week as he is reportedly set to attend an international school in Bosnia.

He is understood to have enrolled at the United World College in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina. A person joined the school's Facebook page last month in his name, leaving a simple message, "North Korean incoming," and Bosnian officials have reportedly acknowledged the story. The young man posted his images on Facebook last week, but access to his Facebook page was soon restricted for unknown reasons.

Kim Jong-nam has reportedly fallen out of favor with his father for his wayward lifestyle. He is known to be critical of his father's decision to choose his younger half-brother Kim Jong-un as the North's next leader.

김한솔 "굶주리는 주민에 정말 미안"

북한 김정일 국방위원장의 장손(長孫) 김한솔(16)이 동영상 공유 사이트인 유튜브에 올린 글에서 `굶주리는 북한 주민에게 미안하다'는 심정을 토로했던 것으로 확인됐다.

3일 연합뉴스가 아이디 `gliango'가 2007년 12월18일 유튜브에 올린 `Anthem No rth Korea'(북한국가•國歌)의 댓글들을 확인한 결과, 김한솔의 아이디로 추정되는 `kimhs616'이 올린 글이 10여 건가량 올라 있다.

김한솔은 영어로 된 이 글에서 "당신들에게 분명히 밝히는데, 나는 북한사람으 로 지금은 마카오에서 살고 있다. 북한에는 인터넷이 있다. 나는 거기에 위성통신 시스템을 세팅해놓았다" "조선민주주의인민공화국(DPRK)이여 영원하라"고 적었다.

또 "나는 북한에서 중간 수준으로 살고 있지만 좋은 음식이 있어도 먹을 수 없 다. 우리 인민에게 정말 미안하기 때문"이라며 "나는 우리 인민이 굶주리고 있다는 것을 알고 있다. 그들을 돕기 위해 뭔가를 하고 싶다"는 글도 남겼다.

당시 김정일 국방위원장이 뇌졸중으로 위독한 상황이라는 보도에 대해서는 "그 는 여전히 살아있다. 잠시 현기증이 왔을 뿐"이라고 반박했다.

김한솔은 자신에 대해 "(북한당국과) 관련된 사람이다. 더 이상은 말하기 어렵 다"고 설명했다.

김한솔의 남긴 댓글은 다른 네티즌들이 북한국가를 보며 "북한사람이 너무 안됐 다" "정말 어떻게 그런 (돼지 같은) 지도자를 보며 웃을 수 있는지 이해가 안된다"는 공격에 대한 방어 차원이었다.

김한솔은 2007년 12월 스트립제너레이터닷컴(http://stripgenerator.com)이라는 온라인 카툰(cartoon.한 컷짜리 만화) 제작 사이트에 환경보호를 주제로 한 만화도 올렸다.

또 지난 3월에는 `천재 기타소년'으로 유명한 정성하군의 기타연주 영상에 `누가 뭘 잘한다고 해서 보면 아시아인'이라는 댓글을 남겼고, 한 인터넷 게시판에 "북한에서는 모든 사람이 휴대전화를 갖고 다닌다"고 적었다가 다른 네티즌으로부터 ` 거짓말하지 말라'는 지적을 받기도 했다.

김한솔은 자신의 소셜네트워킹서비스 (SNS)와 유튜브 계정 등이 외부에 공개되자 지난 1일 페이스북과 트위터에 대한 외부인의 접근을 차단한 데 이어 3일 유튜브 계정도 폐쇄했다.

한편 김한솔이 등록한 보스니아의 국제학교인 유나이티드월드칼리지 모스타르 분교(UWCiM) 메리 무사 대변인은 "(김한솔이) 비자가 나오면 보스니아에 도착할 것 이다. 다른 학생과 동등한 대우를 받고 기숙사에 입주할 예정"이라고 말했다고 미국 의 인터넷매체인 허핑턴포스트가 2일(현지시각) 전했다.
