The preview of this year’s Korean Eye exhibition will take place over five days starting Monday in the lobby of the National Assembly in Yeouido.

Visitors will be able to sneak a peek of what the exhibition “Korean Eye: Energy and Matter” will look like when it kicks off in New York in November. Seven participating artists ― Hong Young-in, Kang Hyung-koo, Park Seung-mo, Debbie Han, Kim Joon, Bae Joon-sung and Yoon Jong-seok ― will each showcase an artwork at the National Assembly. 

Supported by Standard Chartered Bank, the Korean Eye exhibition has been held annually since 2009. Over 500,000 have visited the exhibitions so far, which have been held in many cities including London, Singapore and Seoul.

Korean Eye organizers said that it nominated Rep. Lee Eun-jae of the Grand National Party, who has shown interest in enhancing the nation brand and promoting Korean art, as the project’s first ever goodwill ambassador.

“Opening the first 2011 Korean Eye exhibition at the National Assembly will meet National Assembly members’ and visitors’ desires to enjoy art and culture,” said Lee.
