He worked for Korea Johnson and more recently was the finance director of Schering-Plough Japan and finance advisor of Merck Japan.

“The world’s poor, especially children in developing countries, deserve our best efforts to protect their health,” said Morahan in a press release.

“Vaccine development and introduction play critical and highly effective roles in achieving this goal. I am looking forward to working with all colleagues, donors, supporters, and other relevant external bodies in support of the IVI’s humanitarian mission,” he added.

The International Vaccine Institute is the world’s only international organization devoted exclusively to developing and introducing new and improved vaccines to protect the world’s poorest people, especially children in developing countries. It is also the only international organization headquartered in Seoul, inside the Seoul National University campus in southern Seoul.
