'August Rush' star hospitalized after suspected suicide attempt

Hollywood's rising star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to hospital by ambulance after a suspected suicide attempt, Daily Mail reported.

Meyers -- who played amateur singer-turned-businessman in a hit-movie "August Rush" -- is believed to have taken pills at his £3million home in Maida Vale, west London on Tuesday evening, it reported.

The Irish actor has been battling a long-standing drink problem.

He was found slumped on the floor by paramedics and initially refused treatment at the scene, Daily Mail reported.

Meyers was then taken to hospital, it added.
