Fifteen acts will converge on Midan, a new city near Incheon International Airport, for the RocKorea festival on June 4 with expat groups taking the lion’s share of the bill.

Tributes to rock legends will come from six bands, including Rolling Stones renditions from Sticky Fingers, Led Zeppelin classics from Over The Hills and Far Away and a performance from Leotard Skynrd.

Original acts make up most of the lineup, with Korean bands Rock Tigers and Minha Band joining expat bands including The Tremors, Sotto Gamba, and hip hop act Pinnacle and The Antidote. The Frills and Thrills Burlesque Show will add yet more spice to the lineup.

The festival starts at noon and continues for a marathon 18 hours. Breakfast will be served for famished festival goers who make it to the end.

“You can experience rock and roll and the peace and nature of Woodstock through the combination of passion and energy of the international quality bands at RocKorea,” said Pascal Biannic Leger, director of event organizer Softindustry Development, adding that he hoped future versions of the event would be international festivals.

There will also be an art fair and stalls will offer food from around the world all night. A music contest and giveaway events will fill the gaps between performances.

The festival will also provide camping spaces for those who bring their own tents.

Tickets are 40,000 won, or 25,000 won per person for a group of 4 or more. There is a 50 percent discount for students who buy individual tickets. Shuttle buses will run from Incheon airport and from the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon.
