North Korean hackers are stealing cyber money from South Korean game sites, an Internet security expert said.

North Koreans are said to be behind a recent cyber attack on the National Agricultural Cooperative Association, or Nonghyup.

Lim Chae-ho, vice president of KAIST Cyber Security Research Center, said that the hackers are intruding into South Korea-based game sites to obtain cyber money, which can be exchanged with real currency, according to Daily NK.

He said North Korean hackers are 10 times as capable as South Koreans and continuing attempting to break into South Korean websites.

“Our cyber security is in danger due to cyber attacks making use of malicious code,” he said, adding some 60,000 such codes are being created every day.
North Korean hackers are skilled enough to directly damage South Korea’s Internet infrastructure, he said.
