Ziona Chana is head of the world’s largest family, British paper the Daily Mail reported last Saturday, with 39 wives, 94 children, 14-daughters-in law and 33 grandchildren living under his roof.

The gigantic family lives in a 100 room, four story house in the Indian state of Mizoram.

According to the Daily Mail, Chana keeps the youngest women near his bedroom with the older members of the family sleeping further away. There is a rotation system for who visits his room.

Chana told the Sun: “Today I feel like God’s special child. He’s given me so many people to look after.”

To feed the whole family, one meal consists of 30 chickens, 60 kg of potatoes and 100 kg of rice.

Chana is head of a sect that allows members to take as many wives as he wants.

He told the Daily Mail that he will continue to look for new wives.

“To expand my sect, I am willing to go even to the U.S. to marry,” he said.

인도 동북부 미조람주의 농촌지역에 살고있는 치아오나(67)씨는 39명 아내와 94명의 자녀,14명 며느리, 33명의 손녀손자 등 모두 180명의 대가족이라고 영국 데일리포스트가 20일(현지시간) 보도했다.

치아오나씨 대가족은 4층짜리 한 건물에 살고 있으며 하루 식사에 쌀 100Kg과 닭 30마리, 감자 60Kg이 필요하다고 이 신문은 덧붙였다.

올해 69세인 첫번째 부인과 17세에 결혼한 치아노나씨는 1년내 10명의 아내를 추가로 맞이할 계획인 것으로 알려져 사람들을 놀라게 했다.미국에 가서 새 아내를 맞게다는 포부도 밝혔다.

치아오나씨의 가장 나이 어린 아내는 지난 2006년에 결혼한 올해 30세의 후샤거허치라고 밝혔다.

올해 69세의 첫번째 부인과 사이에서 낳은 치아오나씨의 큰 아들이 올해 47세 이기 때문에 4살짜리 막내 아들과 43살 차이다.

이 대가족은 군대처럼 엄격한 규율로 관리되고 있다.

첫째 부인 자시안치후이가 매일 30명의 부인에게 각각 식사,청소,세탁 등 가사일을 분담시키고 있다.

모두 180명의 가족을 거느린 치아오나씨의 아버지도 지난 2006년 숨지기전까지 20명의 아내와 함께 살았다고 한다. (헤럴드 생생뉴스)
