봉준호 신작, 제이크 질렌할, 틸다 스윈튼 톱스타들 합류

봉준호 감독의 신작인 ‘옥자’에 화려한 배우 출연진이 공개 되었다.

5일 (현지시각) 미국 연예매체 더랩 (TheWrap)은 봉준호 감독의 차기작 ‘옥자’에 이미 캐스팅을 결정한 틸다 스윈튼 외에 제이크 질렌할, 폴 다노, 켈리 맥도날드와 빌 나이가 출연할 예정이라고 보도했다.

제이크 질렌할은 ‘브로크백 마운틴’ 으로 국내에도 잘 알려진 연기파 배우로 현재 개봉 중인 ‘에베레스트’를 비롯해 ‘나이트크롤러’ ‘조디악’ 등에서 열연을 펼친 바 있다. 폴 다노는 최근 ‘러브 앤 머시’에서 주인공을 맡았고, 켈리 맥도날드는 제14회 미국 배우조합상 최우수연기상에 빛나는 배우고, 빌 나이는 ‘러브 액츄얼리’와 ‘어바웃 타임’에서의 활약으로 국내 팬들에게는 친숙한 배우이다.

앞서 ‘설국열차’로 봉준호 감독과 호흡을 맞춘 바 있는 틸다 스윈튼은 부산국제영화제에서 ‘옥자’에 대해 “아직은 초반부라 말씀드릴 게 별로 없다”면서 “기대가 크다”고 말했다.

‘옥자’는 아직 구체적인 상황이 많이 공개되지 않았다. 한국과 미국을 배경으로 하는 괴수 영화로, 강원도 소녀가 주인공인 것으로 알려졌다. 오는 2016년 촬영에 돌입할 예정이다.

“Snowpiercer” director Bong Joon-ho is signing up top Hollywood stars for his upcoming monster flick.

American entertainment outlet TheWrap reported Tuesday that Jake Gyllenhal, Paul Dano, Kelly Macdonald and Bill Nighy, in addition to the recently cast Tilda Swinton, are set to join Bong’s new feature “Okja.”

Earlier last week, Swinton revealed she would reteam with Bong after their successful 2013 flick “Snowpiercer” during the Busan International Film Festival.

“I’m already planning more adventures with Bong Joon-ho,” she said while promoting Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino’s “A Bigger Splash.” “He is a great master like Luca.”

“Okja” is a bilingual monster flick with a Korean female character lead set in Korea and New York City. Bong is planning to shoot the film early next year.
