Thai cuisine at JW Marriott Hotel Seoul

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul’s all-day dining restaurant The Cafe is offering authentic Thai cuisine made by guest chef Somkiat Dongprateep from JW Marriott Bangkok from March 28 to April 13. Throughout the promotion period, Chef Somkiat will present a range of popular Thai dishes including hot chili and Thai herb salad, yellow curry chicken, traditional satay kebabs, tom-yum goong and pad thai. The special dishes will be available at the restaurant’s dinner buffet on both weekdays and weekends. Special Japanese lunch box at Grand Hyatt Seoul

Grand Hyatt Seoul’s signature Japanese restaurant Akasaka is offering a special lunch box in celebration of spring from noon to 2:30 p.m. from April 7-20. Prepared by Chef Keiichi Watanabe, the lunch box is filled with delicacies such as steamed egg custard and seasonal appetizers, fresh snapper, southern rough shrimp, Japanese Spanish mackerel sashimi, baked salmon with mushrooms, lotus root and shrimp tempura, broiled hairtail fish, steamed Japanese Spanish mackerel, soba noodles and steamed rice. The lunch box also includes a dessert choice of either seasonal fruit or glutinous rice cakes. The lunch box is priced at 75,000 won, including tax. Take-out lunches at Millennium Seoul Hilton

Millennium Seoul Hilton’s restaurants are offering special take-out lunches that are ideal for outdoor picnics, in celebration of spring. The Cilantro Deli is offers diverse sandwiches (club, salmon, vegetable, ham and cheese, mozzarella, roast beef and salmon croissant-wich) and salads (Caesar, salmon and more), as well as various breads and desserts. Prices for the sandwiches range from 7,500 to 11,000 won, from 12,000 to 20,000 won for the salads and from 6,600 to 12,000 won for the cakes. The Japanese restaurant Genji offers four types of lunch boxes priced between 35,000 and 83,000 won. Two types of “special” lunch boxes are available for 78,000 and 90,000 won. Cantonese dining night at Grand Hilton Seoul

Grand Hilton Seoul’s Chinese restaurant Yeohyang is presenting a special dinner prepared by Chef Lip-hwa Jang, who won the gold medal at the international cooking competition in 2011, on April 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. Titled “Canton Memories 2014,” the dinner event will feature braised sea cucumber, scallops and bamboo with oyster sauce, fried abalone with garlic sauce, Cantonese-style beef fillet, stir-fried lobster with chili sauce, noodles, rice and desserts. The highlight of the dinner will include a popular Cantonese dish called “Buddha Jumps Over the Wall” with Cordyceps mushrooms, known for their unique medicinal qualities in China. Dinner guests can also enjoy unlimited wine including the Chardonnay Reserve Santa Rita from Chile and the Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon. Spring herb promotion at Renaissance Seoul Hotel

Renaissance Seoul Hotel’s restaurant Sabiru is offering a special herb promotion in celebration of spring until April 30. Spring herbs are known for having plenty of vitamins and minerals and to restore the appetite. Guests can choose from either the a la carte menu, consisting of bibimbap with spring vegetables and bean paste stew, or the set menu. The set menu includes spicy octopus with vegetables, spring vegetables wrapped in Korean pancake, dumpling soup with vegetables, grilled beef tail flap, fried shepherd’s purse, bibimbap in hot stone pot, bean paste stew and dessert. The a la carte menu is priced at 42,000 won and the set menu at 58,000 won per person, including tax and service charge.
