In the top of the first at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Ryu struck out John Andreoli and retired Tommy La Stella on a line drive to third. He then struck out Mark Zagunis looking.

With one out in the second, Ryu gave up a single to Matt Murton and a bunt single to Kristopher Negron. Murton then advanced to third on David Freitas' flyout to right and came home to score on Ryu's wild pitch to Japanese veteran Munenori Kawasaki.

With Negron on third and Kawasaki at bat, Ryu tried to wrap up the inning amid heavy rain, but the game was called. It also ended the 29-year-old South Korean's outing as he was replaced by Logan Bawcom when the game resumed after two hours. Iowa eventually won the game 3-2.

Ryu now has six rehab starts in the minors, posting a 4.30 ERA in 23 innings. However, none of his outings have lasted more than four innings. Last Thursday against the Round Rock Express he gave up eight runs -- five earned -- on 10 hits in four innings.

It is still unclear when Ryu will be called up to the majors, but given his small pitch counts on Tuesday the Dodgers are expected to give him at least a few more starts.

Ryu underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his pitching shoulder in May last year and missed the entire 2015 season. He won 14 games in each of the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Dodgers. (Yonhap)
