Jieun: Have you been to many places?
Jieun: 앤디는 많은 곳에 가 보셨나요?

Andi: Well, yes, I’ve been to many countries. Maybe more than some people but less than others.
Andi: 네, 많은 나라에 가 봤어요. 어떤 사람들보다는 좀 더 많이 갔을 거고, 또 다른 사람들보다는 덜 가봤겠죠.

Jieun: Have you been to China?
Jieun: 중국에 가 본 적 있어요?

Andi: Yes, I’ve been to China twice, once to work and once just for travel. Have you been there?
Andi: 네, 중국에는 2번 가 봤어요. 한 번은 일 때문에, 그리고 한 번은 여행으로요. 지은씨는요?


Jieun: No, I haven’t, but I’d really like to see the Great Wall.
Jieun: 아니오, 전 못 가봤어요. 근데 만리장성은 정말 꼭 보고 싶어요.

Andi: Yes, that’s why I went the second time, to see it and Tiananmen Square. To me, I saw the Wall as not so much that it was built to keep the outside world from coming in, but to keep those inside from leaving.
Andi: 네. 저도 두 번째 간 이유가 만리장성을 보려고 간 거였어요. 만리장성도 보고 천안문 광장도 보러요. 제가 볼 땐, 만리장성이 바깥 세계로부터의 침략을 막기 위한 것이라기 보다는 그 안의 사람들이 떠나는 것을 막기 위한 거였던 거 같아요.

Jieun: I never thought about it like that, but it’s kind of too heavy for me to think about right now! Have you been to India?
Jieun: 한번도 그렇게 생각해 본 적은 없었는데, 지금 그런 걸 생각하기에는 저한테 좀 벅찬데요. 인도는 가 본적 있어요?

Andi: Yes, it was one of the best experiences of my life!
Andi: 네, 제 인생에서 가장 멋진 경험 중에 하나였죠.
