Since introducing the Green Embassy Initiative in October 2010, the Danish Embassy has cut its energy consumption by an average of 41 percent per month.

“The embassy is as committed to the green agenda as Denmark and our capital, Copenhagen is,” said Danish Ambassador Peter Lysholt Hansen.

By following seven simple rules, the embassy has managed to reduce consumption, cut the cost of their electricity bill and, more importantly, help the environment.

“Our initial reduction target was 10 percent, but we quickly proved that a much more ambitious target could be attained,” he said.

So far, the embassy has saved approximately 5 tons of CO2 since the introduction of the Green Embassy Initiative.
