"Seduction," a new SBS TV series featuring hallyu stars Kwon Sang-woo and Choi Ji-woo, started with a 7.6 percent rating, a rating measurement company said Tuesday.
The Monday-Tuesday drama aired its first episode on Monday and recorded a 7.6 percent rating nationwide, according to the Nielsen Company Korea, which measures television viewers' ratings.
The 7.6 percent rating is lower than the 8.6 percent rating for the first episode of the soap's popular predecessor, "Doctor Stranger." The comparable figures for other TV dramas broadcast in the same time slot were 9.1 percent for MBC's "Triangle" and 8.3 percent for KBS's "Trot Lover."
"Seduction" has drawn wide media attention because it pairs the two hallyu stars Kwon and Choi for the first time in 10 years, since SBS's hit drama "Stairways to Heaven."
Hallyu refers to the Asianwide boom of South Korean dramas, films and pop music.
The new series depicts the story of a financially embattled husband who finds himself torn by a tempting offer from a wealthy
businesswoman. (Yonhap)
