Students from BIS Canada have continued to excel on British Columbia’s provincial exam, the school announced.

Located in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, the BIS Canada School is the first school here certified by the British Columbia Ministry of Education in Canada.

The examinations are held annually, and all grade 10-12 students who study the provincial curriculum participate in the examination session.

The latest standardized test results show that a majority of BIS Canada’s 10th and 11th graders scored at proficient or advanced levels, the school said.

The average score for math and science for grade 10 was 90 percent and 83 percent respectively, nearly 10-20 percent higher than other schools in British Columbia. The average score for the English section stood at 78 percent and was also higher than other schools in Canada.

Students in grade 11 also scored an average 74 percent in social studies, outperforming their peers in Canada with 70 percent, according to the school.

The BIS Canada School said it is attracting a growing number of students with its quality education programs and strong English-learning environment. It is currently accepting applications for the coming 2013-14 academic year, which starts in September.
