A cap that allows the wearer to control a robot thousands of miles away with brain-power, a fingertip stress detector, and a alpine horn that appears to blow out light were some of the many innovations on display at the 2012 Swiss-Korean Innovation Night in Seoul.

The event held at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park brought together Swiss inventors with Korean collaborators to showcase state-of-art technologies.

The Lift Conference on April 18 brought together artists, researchers and young professionals.

One project “In the Woods,” by Swiss artist Camille Scherrer, presented visitors with quirkily modified versions of their own shadows ― sprouting antlers or giving them the outline of a bear.

Among others, KAIST students’ project represented Korea with a robot called “Mori” that automatically detects the face of a visitor and uploads their photo to social networking sites to make new friends online.
