South Korea's largest full-service carrier Korean Air Lines Co. said Tuesday it will begin offering code-shared flights to six different routes with its wholly owned budget carrier Jin Air Co. this week.

The latest arrangement allows customers to book Jin Air flights from South Korea's main gateway Incheon to Guam, Nagasaki, Okinawa, Macau, Kota Kinabalu and Vientiane via Korean Air.

Those who book the designated flights will also be able to receive mileage benefits with the country's flagship carrier if he or she flies any of the routes on the low-cost carrier.

"We are looking forward to creating a synergy effect through this deal, as we can further expand our number of flight routes, while Jin Air is able to strengthen its sales network," Korean Air said in a press release.

Korean Air currently holds codeshare agreements with 30 different airlines for 335 routes, the carrier said. (Yonhap)
