Four planets will converge on last week of May

Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Mercury will align between Sunday and Tuesday this week and be met with a very thin line of the moon in a slow series of conjunctions, Space.com reported.

The unusual convergence of the four planets with the moon at the end can be seen during late twilight in the northern hemisphere, but will be for the most part difficult to see. Sky watchers in the southern hemisphere, however, will be able to watch it in the dark sky mostly in mid-twilight.

Those living in Cape Town, Melbourne or Dunedin, New Zealand, will have a better chance of watching the unusual scene, according to the report

Ancient people associated the alignment of planets with a variety of disasters. One example in 1186 A.D. indicated that gathering of five planets visible through the naked eye caused panic across Europe after religious leaders predicted that disasters might come.
