LG CNS, the IT affiliates of LG Group, said Wednesday it has agreed with Uzbekistan to establish an e-government system there through a joint venture.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two plan to start the project in 2015. The agreement was initiated at Uzbekistan’s request, the company said.
The deal was reached during South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s visit to Uzbekistan, the first stop on her six-day tour of Central Asia.
South Korea’s e-government administrative system has been recognized by the United Nations.
LG CNS has been tapping deeper into the overseas markets over the recent years, participating in building Malaysia’s postal systems and Bahrain’s corporation registration solutions last year. (Yonhap)
