A forum on Korea’s Internet freedom is to be held in Seoul on Saturday, Aug. 6. The Asia Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association has organized the forum, which is in part sponsored by TNM Media, blog Nanoomi.net and Platoon Kunsthalle.

The event to be held from 12―3 p.m. at Platoon Kunsthalle in Gangnam will examine Northeast Asia’s changing media landscape.

A panel discussion will examine how the conflict between North and South Korea has affected online freedom of expression here.

Experts will also discuss how the North is using social media as an outreach tool for the world’s most closed-off society, as well as how the Internet is affecting media in South Korea and China.

Guests for the panel include IDG News Service Tokyo Bureau Chief Martyn Williams, Baidu.com Director of International Communications Kaiser Kuo, TNM Media co-chief executive Myung Seung-eun, and VOA Seoul Bureau Chief Steven Herman.
