LG CNS CEO Kim Dae-hoon said Monday that the company needs new human resources that can create high value-added solutions and technologies by coming up with good ideas generated from a wide range of knowledge.

In a meeting with his new employees at the company’s headquarters in Seoul, the chief executive of the IT solutions provider said it needs “people who can freely use both hands” in this age of smart technology.

A person should be able to use his or her professional knowledge in one hand with the other hand holding versatile skills to converge different technologies, he added.

“Ambidexters also should be able to creatively counter unpredictable crises with a wide range of knowledge in various fields,” Kim told his rookies.

He urged the recruits to read many books in order to strengthen their abilities and to become multitalented people who can carry out LG CNS’ future global projects, such as developing smart transportation payment systems and achieving new growth.

The company has been in the business of converging transportation with information technology since 2004, when it won the bid to develop an automated fare collection system for Seoul’s public transport. It has expanded in Colombia and Greece with the technology.
