A cultural celebration is set to hit Itaewon this weekend, with a parade, concerts and a variety of other activities.

At this year’s Itaewon Global Village Festival, two fringe stages will be set up for busking style performances, while a team from Ghana has been invited to join a mix of cultural performances that also includes Korea’s Gangangsullae dance and a demonstration by tightrope master Kim Dae-gyun.

The festival’s parade will run on the first day, followed by a K-pop concert in the evening with acts including Mamamoo and I.O.I member Hwang Insun.

Stalls will line the streets throughout the festival, offering anything from quizzes to craft beer.

Finishing off the event will be a closing ceremony and a “Never Ending Concert” featuring bands including Biuret, IC Cider and Crying Nut that, perhaps counterintuitively, is scheduled to end at 9:30 p.m.

The festival will take place in the area around Itaewon Station and along the main street between Itaewon Station and Noksapyeong Station.
