The state-run postal office is planning to issue commemorative stamps for an upcoming meeting of the United Nations’ International Telecommunications Union set to open in Busan, according to government sources.

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said Korea Post will sell the stamps for the 19th International Telecommunications Union Plenipotentiary Conference, which will take place from Oct. 20 to Nov. 7 in Korea’s largest port city.

Korea Post will issue about 1 million sheets of the stamps, which will come in four designs, including an image of Busan’s Gwangan Bridge. The stamps be available for sale at local post offices starting Wednesday.

The ITU is an information and communications arm of the U.N. that sets technological standards, allocates radio frequencies and satellite orbits, and works to improve the overall quality of communication services.

It will be attended by some 3,000 delegates from 193 countries, along with some 150 ministers and minister-level officials, the organizers said.
