Everland Romantic Illuminations


Everland’s Romantic Illumination festival is continuing its celebrations until March 1 with beautiful and enchanting illuminations for a romantic and memorable holiday season.

The festival will feature an extravagant 26-meter-high Romantic Tower Tree, which will be displayed at the fountain area between Four Seasons Garden and Rose Garden. The hollowed out Christmas tree tower can accommodate up to 50 people.

The tree’s interior showers the visitors with enchanting lights as it is decorated with a chandelier, mirror ball and more.

Visitors can also enjoy a multimedia fireworks show, “Magic in the Sky,” which will be entertaining visitors every evening from Dec. 18 to 25 for a romantic and memorable night. For more information, www.everland.com. 

Lights fest at Garden of Morning Calm


The biggest festival of lights in Korea has kick-started its holiday festivities, welcoming visitors of all ages for a nighttime visit to one of the most famed gardens in the nation. The Lighting Festival at the Garden of Morning Calm in Gyeonggi Province will be illuminated by 30,000 lights every night until March 26.

Majestically colorful lights will adorn trees throughout the tourist hotspot’s main gardens including the Hakyung Garden, Hometown House Garden, Bonsai Garden, Moonlight Garden, Sky Path and Garden of Eden.

The Garden of Morning Calm is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Weekdays on Sundays and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and national holidays. The festival’s winter lights will be turned on at 6 p.m.

Lotte World Christmas Miracle


Lotte World is gearing up to play host to its annual Christmas Festival every day until Dec. 27. This year’s festival will tackle the theme of “A White Christmas,” allowing visitors the chance to see spectacular Christmas decorations at every corner of the theme park. The park will also feature a Santa Village and a snowman photo zone for the children.

There will also be a special snowfall show twice a day at the Adventure Park and during the new Christmas Parade. The Christmas Character Parade will show off Lotte World’s Lotty and Lorry mascots, and all their furry friends, in the style of a family musical parade. For more information, www.lotteworld.com.

Busan Christmas Tree Festival


The Busan Christmas Tree Festival, Busan’s annual winter event, will be held in the Gwangbok-ro area of the Jung-gu District in Busan.

Celebrating the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, the annual Christmas Tree Festival will feature a myriad of festive and family-friendly holiday activities including the tree of wishes, various street performances, and a photo and video contest. On top of the daily cultural and Christmas concerts, local visitors can also participate in the festival’s popular carol singing contest.

Herb Island Illumination Fest 


For family, friends and couples looking to spice up their Christmas, Herb Island -- located in Pocheon -- will be hosting the annual Lighting & Illumination Festival until Dec. 31.

With its 300-meter-long wish tunnel, lavender field lit up in various colors and more, Herb Island aims to get visitors in the holiday spirit.

Inspired by European Christmas markets, the festival offers various events, including Christmas-themed soap, tree and candle making, Christmas cookie market, turkey barbecue, and others.
