LG Electronics said Wednesday its premium refrigerator Magic Space had won several top awards in the United Kingdom and China.
According to the Korean tech giant, Innovative Electrical Retailing, a U.K. magazine specializing in home appliances, recently picked the product as the best refrigerator in terms of energy efficiency.
The Door-in-Door, the so-called “magic space” refrigerator, allows users to take out their frequently used snacks and drinks quickly and easily while helping reduce energy consumption.

In a separate evaluation, U.K.’s Trusted Reviews gave the product full marks, touting its innovative styling, spacious interior and low noise level.
In China, its five-door variant also won the China Appliance Grand Prize, the top honor, during an exhibition held by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association in Shanghai last week.
The product has a separate drawer between the freezer and refrigerator whose temperature can be controlled ― a useful feature especially for storing fish, meat, dairy products or wine, the company said.
“The Magic Space has improved both in terms of energy efficiency and user convenience. We will continue to make efforts to add new, more innovative values to our products,” said LG’s home appliance chief Jo Seong-jin.
