LG Display CEO to share vision of future displays at IFA

LG Display chief executive and president Han Sang-beom will take the stage at IFA 2015 ― the world’s largest electronics trade show to be held in Berlin from Sept. 4 to 9 ― to share his vision on future display technologies, according to the company Thursday.
The CEO will deliver a keynote speech themed “How display technologies will change our lives” on the first day of the event, and talk about what comes next after current high-end displays such as 4K and curved screens.
He will introduce cutting-edge technologies such as paper-thin, transparent displays as well as flexible screens.

“LG Display’s opening keynote at IFA 2015 will focus on technology that is key to consumer and business users ― the display. This is a moment to look forward as a global pioneer and technology leader envisions the future,” said Jens Heithecker, IFA executive director, in a press release.
Han, with more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and display sectors, has been credited with catapulting LG Display’s IT and TV business units into the top echelons of the world markets.
The CEO is also credited with commercializing organic light emitting diode displays in earnest, which are considered to be one of the most promising display technologies.
LG Display is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of thin-film transistor LCD panels, OLEDs and flexible displays.
