사회지도층 성접대 의혹의 핵심인물로 지목된 건설업자 Y씨를 소환해 조사할 것이라고 경찰이 밝혔다. 현재 성접대 의혹에 대한 내사를 진행중인 경찰청 특수수사과는 지난 19일 건설업자 Y씨를 성폭행 등의 혐의로 고소한 K씨를 소환조사 했으며 피해자라고 주장하는 1-2명도 함께 불러 조사했다.

경찰 관계자는 “고소인과 피해자들을 불러 불법적 내용에 대한 진술을 확보했다”고 말했다.

경찰은 이르면 21일 Y씨로부터 성접대를 받았다는 의혹을 받고 있는 유력인사들도 불러 조사할 방침이다.

19일 참고인 자격으로 소환된 3명의 진술은 Y씨의 성접대가 있었는지 불법적으로 동영상을 찍었는지, Y씨의 강원도 원주 별장에서 이들이 이권청탁을 했고 또한 유력인사들이 Y씨의 요구를 받아줬는지에 관련된 진술인 것으로 알려졌다.

경찰은 관련 진술을 확보함에 따라 성 접대 동영상의 존재 여부와 행방에 촉각을 세우고 있다.

Y씨의 지인, Y씨를 고소한 여성사업가 K씨에 따르면 Y씨는 유력층에 대한 성 접대 과정을 동영상으로 촬영해 보관해온 것으로 전해졌다. 사회 지도층에 대한 성 접대 동영상의 존재 여부에 대해 경찰은 현재까지 확인을 해주지 않고 있다.

경찰청 관계자는 “동영상의 존재와 행방은 초미의 관심사”라며 “동영상의 행방과 내용도 이번에 수사해서 확인해야 할 사항”이라고 말했다.

그러나 Y씨를 고소한 A씨는 윤씨가 자신과 성행위 동영상을 촬영해 자신의 직장 주변인에게 뿌리겠다고 협박했다고 주장한 바 있다. 이 사건을 담당한 서초경찰서는 이 동영상의 존재를 확인한 것으로 전해졌다.

윤씨의 별장에 초대받아 가본 적이 있다는 한 참석자는 “윤씨가 유력 인사에게 성 접대하는 장면을 동영상으로 찍어 협박 등 용도로 활용한다는 얘기를 들은 바 있다”고 말했다.

사회 지도층에 대한 성 접대를 담은 동영상은 CD 7장 분량인 것으로 전해졌다.

A씨가 윤씨에게 빼앗긴 외제차를 찾는 과정에 동원된 A씨의 지인이 윤씨의 차량에서 이 CD를 확보하면서 동영상의 존재가 드러난 것으로 알려졌다.(코리아헤럴드/조정은 기자)

Police to summon key figures of sex-for-favor scandal

Police will question a local contractor and other key figures allegedly involved in a snowballing sex-for-favor scandal. The contractor is suspicious of providing sexual services to high-ranking officials and public figures in return of business favors.

Officials at the National Police Agency said Wednesday that they have summoned three witnesses overnight and have secured their statements on the contractor’s illegal lobbying activities and on the secretive meetings allegedly arranged by him for social elites.

“We have secured the necessary testimonies by summoning the three people as witnesses,” an investigator said.

The 51-year-old contractor surnamed Yoon is accused of filming officials and others having sex with women he hired for the purpose. Sources say that he might have used the footage to blackmail the officials for business favors.

The police said they will also question those influential figures mentioned by the witnesses on Thursday if possible and investigate whether they have peddled their influence for Yoon to win construction contracts. Investigators will also summon women who were reportedly hired by Yoon for sexual services for questions. Officials added that they will also focus on securing the videos, reportedly filmed by Yoon, saying they could not yet confirm the existence of such videos.

“The existence and the whereabouts of the videos is (our) top priority,” an official said.

The scandal went viral around the country early this week as it reportedly involves a number of influential figures including an official who serves in a vice ministerial post and the head of a general hospital.

Local reports claimed that Yoon hired about 10 women, including a housewife, a businesswoman and a musician, to perform sexual services for officials. They were allegedly often invited to Yoon’s luxurious country house in Wonju, Gangwon Province or karaoke sessions between 2008 and 2011. Actresses and models were also invited to parties at the house, reports quoting neighbors said.

The case came to the attention of police after a woman filed a complaint against Yoon and his colleague for rape and extortion late last year. The woman surnamed Kwon told police that her assistants found a number of CD-ROMS in a car she had lent Yoon that showed big name officials and women having sex. The police asked Kwon to submit evidence to back up her claims but she said she had destroyed the discs. The prosecution dropped all charges against Yoon last month aside from one relating to an unregistered air gun.

Kwon claimed that she had lent Yoon 1.5 billion won ($1.34 million) in cash and that he had threatened to release another video of him raping her while drugged after she asked to be paid back.
