WeMakePrice, one of the nation’s top three daily-deal sites, said Tuesday the number of its unique visitors during the first three weeks of January outpaced those of rivals Coupang and Ticket Monster.
Considering the tight race among the three companies in the fast-growing social commerce market, topping the visitor number is an important indicator of the site’s competitiveness, a company official said.
Considering the tight race among the three companies in the fast-growing social commerce market, topping the visitor number is an important indicator of the site’s competitiveness, a company official said.
The company added it posted a 50 percent growth in gross merchandise volume or GMV -- the total value of goods sold through a marketplace -- at 2.4 trillion won ($2 billion) last year.
“Everyone in our company has put extraordinary efforts to continue the explosive growth,” Lee Jin-hyeong, WeMakePrice vice president, said in a statement. “We are off to a great start this year by topping the total visitor number among our rivals. This year, we will continue to boost our GMV to compete directly with other online markets overall.”
