South Korea Tuesday strongly condemned a recent suicide bombing in Pakistan that left over 70 people dead, vowing to maintain its global cooperation in eradicating terrorism.

On Monday, a man wearing a bomb jacket blew himself up among people who gathered outside a hospital at Quetta located in the southwestern part of Pakistan. Local media reports said that 71 people have been confirmed dead with over 100 others injured.

"We cannot but express our shock and concern over the terror attack that happened near a private hospital in downtown Quetta that left a large number of casualties," the foreign ministry said.

"Terror is an act that goes against civilization and humanity. It cannot be justified under any circumstances and should be eradicated. That is our government's firm stance," it added.

Expressing its deep condolences to those killed, their families, the Pakistan government and its people, the ministry said that it will keep "actively" joining the global efforts to root out terror and other horrendous crimes going forward. (Yonhap)
