Rock singer and MBC music show “Nagasu” (I Am a Singer) star Yim Jae-beom charmed some 7,000 audience members in L.A., receiving a standing ovation during his solo concert at the NOKIA theater on Friday.
Wearing a hanbok, Yim started off the concert by singing his famous “Nagasu”-hit “Bin Jan” (An Empty Glass). Yim had performed the 1982 trot piece originally sung by Nam Jin, back in May, mesmerizing the TV viewers with his husky voice and magnetic stage presence.

The rocker also performed his own hit songs at the concert, such as “Gohae” (Confession) and “Neoruel Uihae,” (For You), as well as the famous “Nagasu” number “Yeoreobun” (Everyone).
Last month Yim held a mini concert as well as a lecture at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, California.
Yim, who made his debut in 1986 as a member of the heavy metal band Sinawe, suddenly retired from the music scene in 2005. He made a flashy comeback by appearing in “Nagasu” earlier this year.
Friday’s concert will be broadcast on a future episode of MBC’s music-themed road show, “Sunday Night ― Saddle the Wind.” Yim has been shooting the show in the U.S. since last month, while giving concerts at the same time.
