Hanbul Motors Corp., the local importer of French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen, on Monday introduced the latest version of Peugeot's Smart Urban Vehicle, the New 3008, that comes with an astonishing 21.2 km/l fuel efficiency.

   The top-rated fuel efficiency is a 10 percent improvement from the previous version as the vehicle comes with a new HDi engine that took nearly four years and 1.5 billion euros ($2 billion) to develop, Hanbul Motors said.

   The 1.6-liter engine produces a maximum horsepower of 112 and a maximum torque of 27.5 kilogram-meters, an improvement of 12.5 percent from the previous version.

   The new engine also makes the vehicle one of a kind as it produces only 127 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer driven.

   "Peugeot has always been a brand of renovation in the local automobile market, introducing the first diesel sedan in the country in 2005, the first environment-friendly HDi engine in 2009 and the first vehicle with a higher than 20 km/l fuel efficiency in 2010," Hanbul Motors preisdent Song Seung-cheol said.

   "The New 3008 will again mark a big turning point in the country's market for environmentally friendly vehicles."

   The New 3008 also comes with a variety of features for safety and convenience, including a head-up display, automatic distance alert system and an automatic electric parking brake system, according to Hanbul Motors.

   The local price of the vehicle was set at 38.9 million won ($35,140), inclusive of value-added tax.

'SUV 최강의 연비' 푸조 '뉴3008' 출시

  (서울=연합뉴스) 이상헌 기자 = 푸조 수입사인 한불모터스㈜는 7일 ℓ당 20㎞가 넘는 연비를 자랑하는 스포츠유틸리티차량(SUV) '뉴 3008'을 출시했다고 밝혔다.

    PSA그룹에서 4년간 2조4천억원을 투자해 개발한 신형 1.6 HDi 엔진이 탑재된 이 차량은 이전 모델보다 좋아진 ℓ당 21.2㎞의 연비를 실현해 국내에 출시된 SUV 중 연료 효율성이 가장 뛰어나다. 이산화탄소 배출량도 ㎞당 127ｇ이다.

    친환경성이 강화됐지만 최대토크는 12.5% 높아진 27.5㎏.m(1천750rpm)을 구현해 순간 가속력이 향상됐고, 최고출력은 112마력(3천600rpm)으로 약간 향상됐다.

    새롭게 설계된 엔진 제어 소프트웨어가 더 나아진 작동력을 제공하며, 전자제어 기어시스템의 변속감도 부드럽게 개선됐다는 게 한불모터스 측의 설명이다.

    주행 필수 정보를 한눈에 보여주는 헤드업디스플레이, 차간거리 경고시스템, 전 자동 주차 브레이크, 힐 어시스트 시스템 등 첨단 사용도 대거 적용됐다.

    파노라믹 글래스 루프로 개방감을 극대화했으며, 6에어백, 유아용 시트  안전장 치 등이 장착되는 등 유럽 신차 충돌 테스트인 유로엔캡 최고등급인 별 5개를  받았 다.

    가격은 부가세를 포함해 3천890만원으로, 기존 모델보다 40만원 올랐다.
