LG Electronics said Tuesday it aims to more than double its share in the European air conditioning market this year.
Korea’s second largest electronics maker is showcasing its air conditioning and heating products at a tradeshow in Madrid, Spain, this week.
“We will target the European air conditioner market by strengthening our lineup with market-leading products, service capabilities and infrastructure for new businesses such as LED lighting and solar energy,” said Noh Hwan-yong, head of LG’s air conditioning and energy solutions division.
The company said it is seeking to post a more than 120 percent growth this year in the European market.

Its energy-saving and eco-friendly commercial air conditioners, heaters, light-emitting diodes and solar cells will be on display at a 524 square-meter booth at Climatizacion, Europe’s largest international exhibition for air-conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration industries, starting Tuesday through Friday, the company said.
They include its flagship “Multi-V” air conditioners that integrate high energy efficiency with easy temperature controls for commercial buildings, LG said.
Its “Therma-V” heaters, which carry air-to-water heat pumps that LG claims to have four times higher power-saving effects than existing boilers, won “Innovation Awards” at the AHR Expo in Las Vegas in January.
The 13th annual event will host about 74,000 specialists of 1,700 companies from 56 countries, LG added.
