Toyota Korea, the local distributor of the Japanese automaker, will recall 2,571 Lexus vehicles sold between February 2003 and July 2006. They include 2,292 Lexus RX330 crossover vehicles and

278 units of the RX350, according to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

   The ministry said the floor mats could entrap accelerators and cause a crash. The same problem caused Toyota's largest single recall in the U.S. in 2009.

   Meanwhile, the ministry said GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of U.S. automaker General Motors Co., was also recalling 15 units of the Cadillac SRX model sold here between Jan. 17 and Feb.

10 due to a software defect that could disable the driver's ability to adjust heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

    (서울=연합뉴스) 이상헌 기자 = 국토해양부는 렉서스의 RX 모델과 GM 캐딜락의 SRX 모델에서 제작결함이 발견돼 수입사인 한국토요타자동차와 GM코리아가 자발적으 로 리콜한다고 20일 밝혔다.

    리콜 대상 렉서스 차량은 2003년 2월12일에서 2006년 7월26일까지 제작돼 수입 판매된 RX330 2천292대, RX350 278대, RX400h 1대 등 총 2천571대이다.

    이들 차량에서는 바닥 씌우개가 완전히 고정되지 않아 가속 페달을 간섭하면서 페달이 눌린 상태로 원상으로 되돌아오지 않을 수 있는 것으로 조사됐다.

    캐딜락 리콜 대상은 올해 1월17일부터 2월10일까지 생산 판매된 SRX 모델  15대 로, 공조시스템 제어 프로그램의 오류 가능성이 있다고 국토부는 설명했다.

    해당 자동차 소유자는 21일부터 수입사 서비스센터에서 무상수리를 받을 수  있고, 리콜 전 수리 비용도 청구할 수 있다.
