Hyundai Motor Group promoted six top management personnel at major units on Monday as part of chairman Chung Mong-koo’s business policy to secure internal strength.

Jung Soo-hyun, who worked as a CEO of Hyundai E&C, was promoted to president and CEO of Hyundai Group’s construction unit, taking the No. 1 position in the company.

Hyundai Mobis CEO Jun Ho-suck will lead the auto parts producer as the president and CEO, taking over the role of the outgoing vice chairman.

Previously, the two companies were led by vice chairmen, but the group abolished the positions, replacing them with president and CEOs. The group said that two outgoing vice chairmen of Hyundai E&C and Hyundai Mobis will serve as advisers to their respective companies.

Hyundai Powertech CEO Bae In-kyu was named Hyundai Wia Corp. CEO and Kia Motors Corp.’s Slovak factory deputy CEO was promoted to CEO of Hyundai Powertech.

Beijing Hyundai Motor deputy president Baik Hyo-heum was appointed CEO of the company.

Kia Motors Corp.’s Georgia factory deputy CEO Yoon Joon-mo will lead Hyundai Dymos as CEO.

The automotive group changed the management structure of two units -- Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Mobis.

“While vice chairmen of the two Hyundai units have taken on the decision-making, CEOs, formerly No. 2 figures, will be in charge of that duty in a bid to cope with the rapidly changing business environment worldwide,” the group said.
