Centum system is LG’s unique technology developed to raise home appliances’ durability and energy efficiency, and reduce noise by innovating key parts such as washing machine motors and refrigerator compressors.
LG plans to showcase its new centum system refrigerators and dryers at the IFA 2016 in Berlin, following the rollout of washing machines in the region last year, the tech firm said Wednesday.
“We aim to lead the European premium appliance market with centum system technologies, which center on the essence of appliances,” said Jo Seong-jin, chief of LG Electronics’ home and appliance business division.
The company said the energy efficiency of the centum system washing machine reduces energy consumption to 60 percent below the threshold required for “A+++” certification, the highest energy efficiency rating in Europe. The machine also uses an advanced damping system similar to those found in automobiles to cut down noise to just 67decibels, lower than any other front-loader washing machines in the European market.
LG’s centum system products provide a 20-year warranty on the Inverter Direct Drive motor of the washing machine and Inverter Linear compressor of the refrigerator, the tech firm said.
“We plan to launch a marketing push at several stores exclusively designed for centum system technologies in Europe soon,” a LG official said.
