The 2012 Yeosu Expo Organizing Committee will hold its final dry run on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. A total of 116,000 people recruited through an open call will participate.
The committee has held two rehearsals so far ― the first on April 28 with some 30,000 family members of the committee staff, police officers, teachers and volunteers from the region and the second on Wednesday with 50,000 comprised of government officials from Yeosu City and residents from other nearby areas such as Gwangju and Busan.
The committee checked the management of facilities and service for visitors in the second rehearsal, which took place ten days prior to D-day. Several pavilions of participating nations including Korea and some performances were previewed as well.
“We will do a final check of the overall Expo facilities and management systems on the final rehearsal in a realistic situation given by the participation of the general public. We will make final touches by conducting a survey on visitors’ satisfaction level and going through every little detail,” explained Kang Dong-suk, chief of the organizing committee.
Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea will kick off on May 12 and run through Aug. 12 under the theme “The Living Ocean and Coast.” For more information, visit eng.expo2012.kr.
