The Korea Herald, the country’s top English-language newspaper in offline and online circulation, launched a new application for Android smartphones on Tuesday.

The app offers the e-paper, real-time news and English language education content including video lectures by popular English teacher Lee Bo-young. The app also features translations of selected Korea Herald articles and audio narration.

Potential subscribers can sample the service with a free trial before purchase.

The app, created using the latest HTML5, is an innovative way for those pressed for time to study English at anytime, anywhere.

In 2010, The Korea Herald began providing news content for Samsung Electronics’ e-book reader and Galaxy Tab. Last year, an app for iPhone was introduced, targeting college students, businesspeople and foreign readers interested in Korea.

The app can be downloaded at Google Play and T-Store and is priced at 4,000 won a month.

It may also be useful for English-speakers who have faced problems downloading other apps.
