The British pop group Girls Aloud announced via Twitter it is breaking up after a decade of performing together.

"Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade," singers Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts tweeted on the Girls Aloud account Wednesday night.

"It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots."

The BBC said the message was posted shortly after the five singers wrapped a show in Liverpool, the final date on their U.K. concert tour. (UPI)

걸그룹, 트위터로 해체 선언!

영국의 팝 그룹 걸스 어라우드가 해체를 공식 선언했다.

10년동안 많은 사랑을 받았던 5인조 그룹 걸스 어라우드는 공식 트위터에 20일 (현지시간) 저녁, 그룹을 해체했다고 밝히면서 팬들에게 감사를 표했다.

“우리는 그저 우리 마음 속 깊은 곳으로부터 감사하다고 말하고 싶어요. 이번 투어는 놀라운 경험이었고, 지난 10년간 함께 해준 당신들에게 감사하다고 말해줄 수 있는 완벽한 기회였습니다”라고 이들은 적었다.

이들은 “당신들 (팬들)이 우리를 보고 영감을 얻길, 그리고 꿈들이 실제로 반짝인다는 것을 상기하길 바랍니다”라며 놀라운 시간이었지만 이제 끝낼 시간이 되었다고 밝혔다.

영국 BBC는 이번 메시지가 걸스 어라운드가 리버풀에서 이번 영국 투어의 마지막 공연을 마무리 하고 얼마 지나지 않아 트위터에 올라왔다고 보도했다.

지난 2002년 영국 ITV 리얼리티 TV쇼프로그램 '팝스타: 더 라이벌'에서 결성된 걸스 어라우드는 5개의 정규 앨범을 내고 활동하다가 지난 2009년부터 솔로 프로젝트를 진행해왔다.

지난해 말 그룹 10주년 기념 앨범 '텐'을 발표한 이들은 함께 투어 공연을 진행해왔다.
