Takahasi is best known as a member of M-Flo and he and fellow Korean member Verbal have made a name for themselves as some of the most highly influential and sought-after hip-hop production team in Japan and across Asia. The DJ’s remix album does not stray far from Girls’ Generation’s original sound; rather the mixes simply add a more club-heavy feel to the tracks.
The members of Girls’ Generation released their eponymous debut Japanese album in June 2011 and featured Japanese singles and remakes including the Japanese versions of the hit Korean tracks “Genie,” “Gee” and “Mr. Taxi/Run Devil Run.“
The debut album went on to top the Oricon Daily Album Chart on the day of its release, selling more than 70,000 copies and more than 200,000 copies in its first week. The album made Girls’ Generation the first foreign girl group ever to top the chart on an album’s release date.
The following year the group released its second full Japanese album titled “Girls & Peace,” which peaked at the No. 2 spot of the Oricon Chart, getting beaten out by the veteran Japanese band Mr. Children.
