Max Changmin, a member of a popular singing duo TVXQ, will be presented with an acting award in Japan, his agency said Friday.

“Max will be receiving best new actor award at the 22nd Japan Movie Critics’ Award ceremony on May 2,” S.M. Entertainment said.

The 25-year-old singer and actor made his acting debut last year in a Japanese film “Fly with the Gold,” which depicts five men plotting gold robbery. Max played “Momo," a North Korean spy disguised as a student.

In addition to acting and music, the versatile entertainer also cohosts several TV shows in Korea.
