GENEVA (DPA) ― The new Lamborghini Aventador, which is set to make its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, will feature a Formula 1 race car-inspired push rod suspension system with superior handling characteristics.

Lamborghini says the new suspension system transversely connects the spring and damper components to the body shell structure instead of the wheel mounts. Located under the windscreen in the front and close to the engine in the rear, the push rods transmit forces from the wheel mounts to the spring and damper elements.

According to the car maker, the system offers more responsive and easier handling.

The entire suspension system of the Lamborghini LP 700-4 is made from forged aluminum alloy, including the upper and lower control arms, the wheel mounts and the relay levers.

In addition the car will be fitted with the new V12 6.5-liter engine with an output of 690 horsepower which Lamborghini unveiled late last year.
