As a chill sets in and the leaves begin to turn, one thing is on the minds of many in Seoul: It’s almost time for Halloween.
And for those who have spent countless hours getting their costumes just right for a night of spooky fun, luck is with you. As Halloween Day falls on a Thursday this year, bars and clubs are hosting parties starting on Oct. 25 until Nov. 2.
Here are just a few of the parties going on.

― Halloween Weekend at Octagon
One of the hottest clubs south of the river, Octagon has a ghoulish weekend planned with events going on Thursday through Saturday. On Oct. 24, the club is having Cruise Night #18 Ghost Ship, with Halloween in Wonderland following on Oct. 25 featuring DJ Koo, and ending with another Halloween in Wonderland on Oct. 26 featuring Shut Da Mouth. Other featured guests include G-Tech, AK, Arch, Moai, Kindergarten, Pascal Dior, Yann Cavaille and Haus-K. For reservations, call 010-2098-8798.
― Back N Forth Halloween Party at Club Harlem
Hip-hop heads can start off the weekend on Oct. 25 with a show at Club Harlem in Hongdae featuring hip-hop trio Soul Dive and crew Buckwilds. Other guests include resident DJs Son, Pumkim and Wegun and special guest DJ Soulscape. Tickets are 15,000 won in advance and 20,000 won at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Interpark and Hiphopplaya.com. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Zombies will take over the city in the 4th Annual Seoul Zombie Walk on Oct. 26. Zombies will meet at Boramae Park near Sindaebang Station at 6 p.m. to drink, mingle and become undead. From there, they will leave at 8 p.m., working their way up to Hongdae via the subway and on foot. Once there, they will “zombie” their way to the after-party with Shindig at Club MWG near Hongdae Park. The walk is in tandem with Little Travellers Korea and proceeds from the zombie pins on sale will go toward fighting HIV/AIDS in South Africa. Shindig is back with a Halloween party featuring live performances from White Lies Burlesque Revue and other special guests. Taking place at Club MWG in Hongdae on Oct. 26, there will be tunes from the ‘50s and ’60s along with Halloween-inspired burlesque acts, guest DJs, freaky costumes, deadly cocktails and more. Anyone in a costume gets a free shot with special prizes for the best costumes. There will be Halloween-inspired cocktails, B-movie projections and much more. Entrance is 10,000 won with a free drink.
― Party Like a Rockstar & GTR Present Halloween Cruise Bash 2013
Party Like a Rockstar and GTR are teaming up for the 4th Annual Halloween Cruise Bash off the Incheon coast on Oct. 26. The cruise features all-you-can-drink Heineken, the event sponsor, with cocktails by Metropolis Bar & Grill. There will be a costume contest giving away 1 million won in cash for the best costume. After the cruise, guests can attend one of four after-parties. Tickets are 85,000 won with buses departing from Seoul, Incheon, Bundang and Osan. Now at its new location next to Holly’s Coffee along the main Itaewon drag, B One is taking guests back to the days of the Roaring Twenties on Oct. 26 with its Halloween party called “The 1920s.” So, pull out your flapper dresses and be prepared for a party that would make Jay Gatsby proud. The Grand Ambassador hotel is throwing the “Happy Horror Halloween Party” at its bar Gran-A on Oct. 31. The party includes DJs, live bands, MCs and other live performances. There will be a special Halloween menu and a lucky draw with prizes such as vouchers for hotel rooms, the buffet and other items. The party starts at 7 p.m. and continues to 1 a.m. Entrance is 30,000 won and includes two free drinks (sparkling wine, beer, cocktail or cola), and sets run from 156,000 won to 250,000 won. New Itaewon club Full Moon is planning to celebrate Halloween on Oct. 26 with Mutaded Nation featuring Mirror Man. There will be a costume contest and prize giveaways. Tickets are available at Interpark for 77,000 won and the hotel has a special Halloween package available for 360,000 won.
