Ten Korean films have been invited to Italy’s Far East Film Festival, according to the event’s official website.

The upcoming event, which is slated to be held in Udine from April 20-28, is considered the biggest European festival featuring popular East Asian cinema.

The invited films include director Chung Ji-young’s courtroom drama “Unbowed,” Koo Ja-hong’s band-drama “Dangerously Excited,” Kang Hyung-chul’s retro flick “Sunny” and Ahn Sang-hoon’s serial-killer thriller “Blind.”

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s crime drama “Silenced,” a film adaptation of author Gong Ji-young’s best-selling novel of the same title, has also been invited. Both the movie and the book are based on a real-life mass sexual abuse case, which took place at a school for hearing impaired children in Gwangju.

Last year’s box-office hit “Punch,” which comically portrayed the life of a teen whose mother is a migrant woman, has also been invited.

Among the invited films, “Dangerously Excited” is the only movie that has not yet been released in theaters.

“Sunny” director Kang Hyung-chul and “Dangerously Excited” director Koo Ja-hong will be attending the festival, according to their movies’ production houses.
