New York-based singer-songwriters Rachael Yamagata and Emi Meyer will perform together in Seoul in March.

Yamagata and Meyer will give their collaborative performance on March 12 at the YES24 Move Hall in Hongdae, northwest Seoul. Concert organizer Southern Star Entertainment said the concert would allow them to perform in a more intimate atmosphere than usual.

Pop-jazz artist Emi Meyer ― who is half-American and half-Japanese ― is a highly acclaimed artist in the U.S. and Japan. Equipped with husky vocals, Meyer has performed many times in both countries, but the Seoul concert will be her first in Korea.

For Rachael Yamagata ― an American artist already familiar to many Koreans ― the March concert will be her fourth gig in Seoul. Best known for her colorful and dreamy voice and her lyrical piano chords, Yamagata shot to fame in 2004 with her debut album “Happenstance” which won praise from magazines such as Rolling Stone and Billboard.

Her single “Be Be Your Love” has become one of Korea’s most loved foreign pop songs after it was used as background music in a mobile phone advertisement.

Yamagata is scheduled to hold separate solo concerts March 14-15 at the Baekyang Concert Hall of Yonsei University.

Tickets for the collaborative concert cost 60,000 won, available through Interpark and YES24.
