Korean fashion designers captured the eyes of the world’s fashion capital at a presentation held during the Paris Fashion Week spring/summer 2013 collections, which kicked off on Tuesday.

Ten Korean designers showed their collections at Seoul’s 10 Soul event held at Ecole de Beaux-Arts, a prestigious art school in Paris, on Wednesday evening.

A total of 30 models gave a live presentation against sculptural walls as a backdrop at the event attended by more than 700 people, including reporters and fashion experts such as president of Federation of Pret-a-Porter Jean-Pierre Mocho, editor-in-chief of French Elle Sylvia Jorif, fashion editor of Italian Vogue Sara Maino and fashion editor of American Vogue Style.com Tim Blanks.

“One of the highlights of the Paris Fashion Week was Seoul’s 10 Soul and the Seoul city itself,” said Jorif. “I am happy to see Korean designers’ talents and works here in Paris.”

Mocho also said: “I look forward to Korean designers’ performance in Paris and other European countries. The fashion industry thinks highly of the Seoul Metropolitan Government who continuously supports designers.”

The Seoul’s 10 Soul project, launched by Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2010, selects 10 up-and-coming fashion designers and supports their brand promotion and sales in the global fashion market.

This year’s list of designers includes Kang Dong-jun’s “D.GNAK,” Ko Tae-yong’s “Beyond Closet,” Sheen Je-hee’s “Jehee Sheen,” Choi Bum-suk’s “General Idea,” Choi Chul-yong’s “CY Choi,” E Suk-tae’s “Kaal E.Suktae,” Lee Seung-hee’s “Leyii,” Im Seon-oc’s “Imseonoc,” “Steve J & Yoni P,” and Hong Hye-jin’s “Studio K.”

A side event to the fashion presentation featured a promotional video of Seoul and 10 designers to better deliver the concepts of their collections.
