Girls' Generation’s concert took place Monday evening at the Wapop Hall in Seoul.
The “K-pop Live” project, which began in February, has one K-pop artist a month giving a 60-80 minute concert that is broadcast live via Tencent Live Music. The first artist was T-Ara in February, followed by Sistar, Beast, 4minute and Apink. According to Tencent and Cantara, the concerts have generated about 1 million concurrent live viewers each.
At a press conference Monday, Cantara‘s Chinese CEO Ma Dian Yu said that Live Music’s goal was to become the ideal platform for watching live concerts. In addition to the live broadcast, Live Music allows fans to interact with each other and with the stars in real time.
“Tencent K-pop Live” will continue with concerts by Girl‘s Day in September and f(x) in October.
