4Minute will become the first K-pop girl group to hold a fan meeting in South America.
The group will hold fan meetings in Peru on Nov. 8, followed by Chile on Nov. 10 and Argentina on Nov. 12.
The quintet, having a six-year history, is expecting to gather about 10,000 fans for the event. The members have been working on planning diverse segments, including performances of their hits, for the fan meetup.
“Performance requests from fans in South America have been pouring in. Look forward to what kind of event 4Minute will present in response to their request,” said an official from the agency, Cube Entertainment.
The group has been raising its profile in countries beyond Korea. “Crazy,” released in February this year, topped China’s online music chart for 10 weeks. Also, members had a fan meeting in Myanmar last April, gathering more than 7,000 fans.
Since dropping their latest album “Crazy,” the members have focused on individual activities. HyunA returned with “Because I’m the Best,” ending a one-year solo hiatus, while Jun Ji-yoon has been appearing on the second season of Mnet’s female rap competition show “Unpretty Rapstar.”
