British tenor Paul Potts is making his way back to Korea, performing an exclusive concert in front of exactly 99 select fans on Jan. 14 at the Stradeum concert hall in Seoul.

In keeping with the concert theme of “99,” based on the idea that 99 fans plus Potts equals 100, tickets to the tenor’s upcoming performance will be sold in an auction. The bidding war for the concert tickets opened at m.allwin.co.kr Wednesday morning, with prices capped at 199,000 won ($166).

According to concert promoter ALLWIN, the 99th blind bid will determine the cost of the ticket. The bidding will close on Jan. 11.  

“Despite all of his personal struggles, Paul Potts never gave up on his dreams,” said an ALLWIN representative in an official statement. “His performance at Stradeum will allow fans to sit very close to him while he’s performing and it will assuredly be an unforgettable experience for those 99 fans.”

Potts’ rise to fame came after the former Carphone Warehouse manager shocked spectators with his operatic voice in the first season of “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2007. The singer went on to win the show with a finale performance of Puccini’s “Nessun dorma.”

Capitalizing on his newfound success, Potts went on to release his 2007 debut album “One Chance,” which topped sales charts in nine countries.
